Due to a scheduling conflict, Julianne Moore, the acress tapped to play Hillary Clinton in the upcoming HBO movie Special Relationship, has pulled out of the project. Actress Hope Davis has taken her place.
This isn't the only drama surrounding this film. Last month, Peter Morgan pulled out of directing the film. Rumors were flying anxieties about his own relationship with the perfectionist Michael Sheen, who will play Blair.
So how one plan to portray a character like Hillary Clinton? Through lots of audio tapes, lots of books, a trusty wig (and if we were to fast forward in time a bit, a closet FULL of pantsuits!).
"With something like this, you can't spend all your time worrying about what you sound like, that you're not doing the storytelling part," Davis told Entertainment Weekly. "That has to come first."
Entertainment Weekly notes that while the movie refers to the "special relationship" between two heads of state, U.S. President Bill Clinton and British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the film also imagines what went on behind closed doors between the Clintons during the Lewinsky affair. And apparently it's something that Davis can relate to.
"Almost every woman in the world has been in that position -- it was a long time ago in my life -- where the person that you trusted looks at you and says, 'I have an admission to make.' It's a moment we've all lived through."
Davis will be flying to London on Sunday to meet the rest of the cast and to do a script read-through. Production will begin July 20 and Davis will join the cast in the beginning of August.
In my opinion, I think she looks more like Hillary Clinton at first glance than Julianne Moore. However, I am not at all familiar with her acting style, her voice or demeanor. I am a bit more familiar with Julianne Moore's acting style and I think she can portray the power and strength of Hillary very well... Hmmm... So what do you guys think, who would play Hillary better, the first Hillary Clinton cast, Julianne Moore, or the second cast, Hope Davis?

Well, remember all that voting we did a while back? It paid off! Time announced their list of the Top 100 Most Influential People and Hillary made the cut. As if she wouldn't!
Time ranked her among the 100 Most Influential American Leaders. Sounds like a proper fit to me.

Former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright also had some words about Hillary:

Hillary Clinton is more popular than Obama, which means she's more popular than Jesus... which totally justifys my worshiping her... right? :) In a CNN poll released today, 71% of people questioned said they approve of how Clinton is handling her job as America's top diplomat. Fewer than one in four disapprove. Hillary's 71% beats Obama's 64%. Booyah, Barack! "She's likeable enough" my arse!
Nine in 10 Democrats approve of Clinton -- that' 90%! But believe it or not, Hillary has also won over a majority of Republicans. By a 50% to 43% margin, Republicans think she is doing a good job as Secretary of State.
Hillary has already racked up close to 60,000 miles in her first two trips overseas -- one journey to China, the other to the Middle East and Europe -- since becoming secretary of state in January. And let's not forget she hit Mexico today for some "meetings" about "drug violence" (cough cough spring break )... Just kidding!

From the great people that brought you the "Where do women want Bill?" poll... see post here... I now present to you the: "Which Female Politician Would Run The Best Daycare" Poll. Our options: Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama, or Nancy Pelosi? WTF.
First of all, clay Hillary is NOT wearing a pantsuit. Soooo, they fail in my eyes RIGHT there. Second, Sarah Palin's daycare is in the lead. WTF? I mean, if we're gonna go there... it's Hillary hands down. If anything, my kids would come outta daycare knowing a shit-ton about foreign policy. That's for sure!
But the real issue here is why is it assumed that since they are women they need to take care of children? All of these ladies, and yes, Sarah Palin included, have done great things in their lives and been both successful career women AND mothers. But of course we have to remind them that since they have a uterus, they must take care of babies and run a daycare, not a country.
Hmmm.... Why isn't there a poll on which male Senator you'd want to fix your car? or which male Senator can bench the most? or which male Senator is most likely to have erectile dysfunction? (1. John Kerry 2. Evan Bayh 3. Lindsay Graham)
All in all, this poll is silly and I think we all know that the best daycare would be if they ALL teamed up... afterall, it does Take a Village, right? :)
