Travel: Hillary Clinton discusses Iran with David Miliband

After landing at Heathrow's airport in London on Saturday night, the Secretary started her day Sunday morning meeting with U.K. Foreign Secretary David Miliband.

Miliband described their meeting to the press as "warm, detailed, intensive, and productive." He went on to describe the topics at hand saying:

I think it's fair to say that we spent the most time today talking about the situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The shared strategy that has been set out by our Prime Minister and by the President is founded on some very clear principles -- above all, the principle that we have a very strong stake in a strong, sovereign, independent Afghanistan that is able to defend its own people from the ravages of the Taliban.

Our resolve, joint resolve, shared with 40 other nations, is strong and clear. And the people of Afghanistan do not want the return to Taliban rule in Kabul, and we have determined to work with a new Afghan government to prevent that.

During their briefing, the Secretary welcomed Iran’s agreement earlier this month to transfer most of its low-enriched uranium to other countries, but added: “It must be followed by action.”

The international community will not wait indefinitely for evidence that Iran is willing to live up to its international commitments.
Also topics discussed were the situation in the Middle East, establishing a peaceful Palestinian-Israel state, as well as climate change.

Hi to all:
I love to see Hillary and David together; I wish he could be a little more as Hillary's age and be a couple!
Just dreaming!
Veyry.
