Hillary Clinton Picspam! 2009 White House News Photographers Association Award Photos

Scanning through some photos I found this new photo from Secretary Clinton's recent trip to Canada, looking stellar in bright red!

I also happened to find a few other great pics. Since 1921, the White House News Photographers Association has helped facilitate press coverage of political events that traditionally had been restricted. It aims to ensure access and to bring local and international news to a wide audience. In 1941, the WHNPA started an annual contest to showcase the best work in photojournalism. There were a few in the large selection of still photography winners from the 2009 WHNPA "Eyes of History" contest.

Awards of Excellence: "UNTITLED" Charles Ommanney, Getty Images for Newsweek: Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and his former rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., attend a joint Democratic Party fundraising event at the New York hotel July 10, 2008, in New York City.

First Place: Linda Davidson, The Washington Post

Second Place:

Melina Mara, The Washington Post

Third Place:

Doug Mills, The New York Times

Award of Excellence:

"RIVALRY" Katie Falkenberg, The Washington Times: On the same day that Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., endorsed Sen. Barack Obama, D-Il., as the Democratic presidential candidate, the two talk as they watch other presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., greet colleagues before the State of the Union address on Jan. 28, 2008, in Washington.

Award of Excellence:

"HILLARY" Allison Shelley, The Washington Times: A candidate may best be shown through the eyes of his or her supporters - many waiting half a day with the homemade signs simply to catch a glimpse from the back of a crowded arena. The supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., were no exception as she waged war with and ultimately conceded to fellow Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.

First Place:

"PANT SUIT LIGHT CHECK" Mark Wilson, Getty Images: Hillary Rodham Clinton's pant suit pieces are checked against stage lighting before the start of day two of the Democratic National Convention at the Pepsi Center Aug. 26, 2008, in Denver.

FANTASTIC photos Sarah!

I have the hardest damn time finding the most recent photos of Hillary- Daylife is good but as you know, they sometimes take a long time to update their photos (remember over the weekend when we were all on Twitter waiting for photos of Hillary on the Rainbow Bridge for the Canada/US Water treaty visit?) and Getty has copyright limitations, wah, wah, wah...ok, I'll stop whining now. Maybe.

But thanks for posting these! If it's ok, I am going to put a link to this post on my site.
