Hillary Clinton gets interactive! Will host a "Digital Town Hall of the Americas"

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will host a "Digital Town Hall of the Americas" just before this weekend's 5th Summit of the Americas in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The "town hall" portion of the events will consist of Hillary taking questions submitted online, while she's on a stopover in the Dominican Republic on her way to meet Haitian President René Préval. (As we all know Hillary is going to be in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Trinidad and Tobago tomorrow!)

The 2009 Summit of the Americas will be held in Trinidad and Tobago, April 17-19, under the theme of "Securing our Citizens Future by Promoting Human Prosperity, Energy Security and Environmental Sustainability." The 2009 Summit is an opportunity for the United States to demonstrate that America remains a reliable partner in the hemisphere, committed to working with our neighbors in a spirit of partnership to uphold our shared values and pursue policies that bring direct benefits to all peoples of the Americas.

The 34 democratically-elected leaders of western hemisphere countries, including President Barack Obama will be meeting at this summit to hammer out agreements on the topic of energy security and environmental sustainability.
