Travel: Hillary Clinton meets with Pakistan leaders

On Friday, October 30th, Secretary Clinton had her third day in Pakistan. She held a meeting with tribal leaders from northwestern Pakistan, whose homeland is at the center of an army assault on Taliban militants.

They sat in a brick courtyard where she told the leaders that the U.S. wanted to “leave the past behind” and work with peace builders. This is part of a pitch to counter rising anti-American sentiment amid escalating insurgencies in Pakistan and neighboring Afghanistan.

One tribal leader told the Secretary that Pakistan had been “fighting your war” in the past and is doing so again today but that “the blood spilled is ours."

She also participated in an interview for GEOTV in Pakistan. Still looking for the full video of the interview. Check back soon!
