The US secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, has been meeting her Asian counterparts in the Thai tourist resort of Phuket.
She has been tackling some of the tough political issues facing the region: the continuing political crisis in Iran; the continued detention in Burma of the opposition leader Aung Sung Suu Kyi; and the virtual breakdown in negotiations with North Korea over its nuclear weapons programme.
The BBC's Kim Ghattas is travelling with Mrs Clinton and spoke to her about these key issues.
Kim began by asking her whether diplomatic overtures to North Korea had yielded any progress.
